I couldn’t be happier with my North Face Recon backpack. I use it daily for work and travel, and it’s hands-down one of the best backpacks I’ve owned.The laptop compartment is well-padded and fits my 15” laptop perfectly. There’s also plenty of space in the main compartment for books, clothes, or gear, plus a ton of smartly placed pockets to keep everything organized. The front pocket is great for quick-access items, and the fleece-lined pocket is perfect for sunglasses or a phone.The best part? It’s incredibly comfortable to wear, even when fully loaded. The padded straps and back panel provide great support, and the sternum strap helps with weight distribution. It also feels super durable—classic North Face quality.If you need a reliable, versatile backpack that looks good and performs even better, this is it. Highly recommend!

If you're using this as a simple EDC bag for a laptop, its pretty good. It fits a 15 inch laptop just fine. The durability would work if you're probably not putting it through the ringer. My commute really isn't too demanding, but for what it is, this bag is perfect. Enough room for a small jacket or hoodie and a lunch bag if you pack it right. I'd say its worth the money and the build quality is pretty strong. And I think it looks pretty good without being TOO tactical, and more urban cool, even with a name like RECON.

The stitching is solid, the zippers are smooth, and the material feels like it can handle anything from daily commutes to weekend hikes.The laptop compartment is well-padded, easily fitting my 15-inch laptop with room to spare. What I love most is how organized the layout is—there are dedicated compartments for everything: your phone, cables, pens, water bottles (yes, two side pockets!), and even a fleece-lined pocket for sunglasses or electronics.Comfort-wise, it’s top-tier. The FlexVent suspension system and padded mesh back panel make it super comfortable to wear, even when it’s fully loaded. Whether I’m biking, walking, or standing on a crowded train, this backpack stays comfortable and balanced.It also holds more than it looks—plenty of space for gym gear, groceries, or a weekend’s worth of clothes, without ever feeling bulky.

I love this backpack for school, the gym, the outdoors—basically everything. It works perfectly and I totally recommend it. Super comfortable to wear and definitely worth the price. The zippers work great, though I’d suggest tying them again for extra security. It’s really durable, especially for carrying your laptop or other electronics thanks to the hard-shell interior. Also gives great back support. Solid all-around bag! Plenty of pockets

I bought this as a laptop daypack for a Dell XPS 17. It fits fine.The good+ Lots of pockets and storage areas all around+ Ample laptop space in the sleeve (17" laptop fits)+ Comfortable shoulder straps+ Nice color (to taste)+ High-quality hardware (generally)The Bad- The exterior water bottle pockets are WAAAAY too small, a regular 32 Oz Nalgene nearly rips them.- The path of the zippers isn't particularly 'clear' of fabric and sometimes they bind up zipping shut.- The straps, while adequate, 'feel' light duty even with just some basic supplies aboard.- The bag's 'waist strap' is essentially useless if you're anything over 'completely average'.

I think north face makes some of the best back packs. The number of convenient pockets for your carry on items, to the space they have for your computer or laptop is cleverly put together. There are convenient pockets everywhere on this bag. And above all it is a very attractive looking bag. Whether you use it for hiking, traveling, or using it for school - it should be the top of everyone's shopping list. If i had one complaint it would be that they come up with better colors that might serve people with more conservative tastes. Some of the color combination that they have are just downright ugly, but i guess they have to offer a wide range for people (who don't have good taste in colors). ;)

High quality and lots of dividers along with storage, it’s light and the back feels comfortable, although the straps are a little hard. In the laptop sleeve there is a small slit for water camel packs or portable chargers, lots of space both forward and upward, but works best with flat things like books. I’m expecting it to last at least 20 years.

My husband is a teacher and he purchased this backpack for his school materials - Chromebook, binders, books, etc. The backpack is great quality, stylish and big enough to hold everything he needs for school. He’s also planning to use it to travel for a weekend trip coming up as it is big enough and versatile enough for travel, too. It has a padded packet for easy Chromebook/laptop storage as well.
